The Challenge
Art exhibitions featuring alumni of the Rhode Island School of Design invite viewers to explore the unique visions and diverse talents honed at one of the leading art and design institutions in the world. No matter the genre, medium, theme, or location, each show is a singular experience which reflects the essence of RISD's artistic community, celebrates creative spirits, and pushes the boundaries of innovative contemporary art.
The Approach
Christina brought an ability to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including cross-departmental relationships and partner organizations, to coordinate various aspects of dozens of regional art shows. Whether the exhibition was a collective environmentalist art protest, a pantheon of indescribably weird fiction and unnamable cosmic horror, a whimsical showcase of children’s book art, or a display of exquisite fine art photographs, each artist’s show was promoted with the unbridled enthusiasm only another RISD alumna could muster.
The Results
Her targeted social media campaigns and carefully curated email blasts expanded the organic reach and visibility of smaller regional alumni art shows. Christina also secured in-kind sponsorships to cover hospitality needs and monetary subsidies for venue security. Where appropriate, Christina conducted post-mortem event analysis, reporting on metrics such as communication outreach, attendance, budgeting, and more. She also wrote and shared recaps for the official RISD blog, updating 35,000 RISD alumni worldwide.
