HTAN Face-to-Face Meeting

Biannual convergence of investigators in the Human Tumor Atlas Network

On-site Event Support | Visitor Engagement

The Challenge

Research centers within National Cancer Institute’s Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN) are working to construct 3-dimensional atlases of the dynamic cellular, morphological, and molecular features of human cancers as they evolve from precancerous lesions to advanced disease. HTAN convenes biannually to coordinate Network activities; provide centralized resources for data and resource storage, access, and sharing; and conduct outreach to the community.

The Approach

HTAN investigators work together as a single consortium to accomplish HTAN goals. While representing the Sorger Lab at Harvard Medical School, Christina joined with research center personnel from across the country to provide hospitality-based visitor engagement and vital on-site event support. No task was too big or too small: she handled registration; checked-in guests; prepared various venue spaces for activities; and coordinated the scientific poster showcase and evening reception.

The Results

More than 200 HTAN-affiliated researchers gathered in Boston, MA to give keynote and plenary presentations, moderate sessions, and share their breadth of knowledge. Hundreds more engaged virtually during the multi-day conference via the Zoom component. Christina played a crucial role in ensuring everything ran smoothly, from setup to last-minute changes. Her quick response and attention to detail were instrumental in making the event a success.
