The Challenge
It was the dead of winter in Rhode Island and the local club of the RISD Alumni Association needed a cheery, all-ages, and interactive event to highlight a local alumni business and chase away the winter blues. Christina set about collaborating with an amazing vendor: DWRI Letterpress.
The Approach
Shop founders and RISD alumni Dan Wood and Lois Harada led tours of the studio, demonstrated the machines, and guided the participants in printing their valentines. Christina and Lois collaborated on DIY, customizable valentines that could skew as sweet or humorous as the participant desired.
The Results
Love was in the air and declarations of affection were on the presses as the event met with delight and sold-out success. Christina sourced in-kind donations of wine and refreshments from local businesses and a fantastic event graphic from local designer and alumna Becky Fong [04 GD].
